🚀 We’re Hiring: Senior Quality/Test Engineer – POS & Retail Systems Company: Hykmann Global Business Solutions AB Role: Senior Quality/Test Engineer Specialization: POS Systems | Retail Technology | Payment Integration | Test Automation | Quality Engineering Experience: 7+ years of relevant experience Location: Stockholm, Sweden Start Date: 1 December 2026 End Date: 31 December 2028 About the Role Hykmann Global Business Solutions AB is looking for an experienced Senior Quality/Test Engineer to drive software quality and verification across Point of Sale (POS) systems and modern retail technology platforms. In this role, you will take ownership of end-to-end quality assurance, ensuring the reliability, performance and stability of complex retail checkout solutions involving payment systems, hardware, software integrations and backend services. You will work across the complete testing lifecycle, from test strategy and planning to automation, hands-on verification, troubleshooting and release readiness. The position requires strong technical expertise, practical testing experience and the ability to independently drive quality initiatives across multiple engineering teams and external vendors. Key Responsibilities 1. Test Strategy & Quality Engineering Define and implement comprehensive test strategies for POS and retail technology systems. Plan, design and execute end-to-end, integration and system-level testing. Establish effective testing methodologies and quality assurance processes. Ensure functional reliability and stability across interconnected software and hardware components. Take ownership of quality activities throughout the software development lifecycle. Continuously identify opportunities to improve test coverage and testing efficiency. 2. Test Automation & Verification Design, develop and maintain automated test cases and testing frameworks. Automate end-to-end testing across POS applications, payment systems, integrations and backend services. Perform API testing and integration verification. Integrate testing activities into CI/CD pipelines. Maintain automated test suites and ensure their effectiveness across software releases. Analyse test execution results and identify potential quality risks. 3. POS & Retail Systems Testing Perform hands-on testing within physical POS and retail test environments. Verify interactions between checkout applications, payment terminals, connected hardware and backend services. Validate system integrations and end-to-end transaction workflows. Test hardware and software interoperability. Investigate and troubleshoot issues across different components of retail technology platforms. Ensure the reliability and consistency of POS operations under different scenarios. 4. Troubleshooting & Defect Management Investigate complex technical issues involving software, hardware, APIs and distributed systems. Analyse application logs, system behaviour and integration failures. Identify root causes and coordinate corrective actions with development teams. Document, prioritise and track defects through to resolution. Collaborate with engineering teams and external vendors to resolve critical quality issues. 5. Technical Leadership & Continuous Improvement Provide technical quality leadership across multiple engineering teams. Coordinate testing activities with developers, system integrators and external suppliers. Drive quality improvements and establish effective testing practices. Maintain test documentation, quality reports and release readiness assessments. Support continuous improvement initiatives across testing processes and automation frameworks. Required Skills & Experience Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in Quality Engineering, Software Testing, Test Automation or complex system verification. Strong practical knowledge of POS systems and retail checkout technologies. Experience testing POS applications, payment solutions and retail system integrations. Advanced experience in: End-to-End (E2E) Testing. Integration Testing. System Testing. Automated Software Testing. API Testing. Experience developing and maintaining automated test frameworks. Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and continuous testing practices. Hands-on experience with physical testing environments involving software and hardware components. Strong troubleshooting skills across applications, hardware, integrations, system logs and distributed architectures. Experience defining test strategies and independently managing quality engineering activities. Ability to coordinate technical activities across multiple development teams and external vendors. Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to take ownership of quality deliverables and drive identified issues through to resolution. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working hands-on with physical testing environments while also taking responsibility for broader testing strategies, automation approaches and quality assurance processes. You should be capable of independently identifying quality risks, coordinating issue resolution and influencing engineering teams to deliver reliable and high-quality solutions.
